We’re back from Keep It True in Germany and needless to say it was AWESOME! We had an awesome time playing for the enthusiastic KIT audience and hanging out with such cool metal fans and friends. The metal people there were just the best! And it was great fun also to meet and party with musicians from so many great bands like Helstar, Heathen, Pharaoh, Jag Panzer, Sentinel Beast, and others. Drums complete for 2nd Crescent Shield album

Posted by Dan on March 19th, 2008

Craig laid down some smoking killer drum tracks for our second album “The Stars of Never Seen” this past weekend.  We are so excited that recording for the album is underway.  Craig really turned in a crushing performance to get the album kicked off.  This time we recorded the drums with legendary producer / engineer Bill Metoyer.  I worked with Bill on the first Destiny’s End record and of course he’s a respected figure in the metal community for producing classic albums by Fates Warning, Slayer, Sacred Reich, Flotsam and Jetsam, Helstar, and many more. Here are some pics from the session.

CRESCENT SHIELD To Begin Recording 2nd Album

Posted by Dan on March 1st, 2008

PRESS RELEASE

US melodic metal stalwarts CRESCENT SHIELD will enter the studio on March 15th with veteran metal recording engineer Bill Metoyer to begin tracking their second album entitled “The Stars of Never Seen”. With the new material, the band is upping the intensity, speed, and complexity of the songwriting while maintaining a strong melodic focus. Greater sophistication and depth has been brought to the lyrics with themes that mainly center on journeys of discovery or progressions through life. The epic song structures compliment the far reaching lyrics with the culmination being a nine minute epic about an ill-fated journey to the bitter cold of the South Atlantic.

Track Listing:
Under Cover of Shadows
The Grand Horizon
Tides of Fire
10,000 Midnights Ago
Temple of the Empty
My Anger
The Bellman
The Endurance
Lifespan

Gerry Alanguilan (Marvel/DC), after the excellent result of his cover-illustration for “The Last of My Kind”, will be again responsible for the artwork. Additionally, “The Last of My Kind” will be released on vinyl in a double gatefold edition through Pure Steel records. A free promotional download of “The Last of My Kind” is still available. http://www.crescentshield.com/14/podcast/

Tremendous review from VS-WEBZINE !

Posted by Dan on September 29th, 2007

Killer French webzine VS-WEBZINE.COM has reviewed our debut CD. Better late then never especially when you consider they gave us a score of 19/20!

Not only that…read this:
“The year is far from being finished but I can affirm it right now: ‘The last of my kind‘ is my album of the year 2007!”

Merci VS-WEBZINE!  Read the whole review here

Songwriting for next album nearing completion

Posted by Dan on September 17th, 2007

 - OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE –
US melodic metal band CRESCENT SHIELD is excited to announce they are nearing completion of songwriting for their sophomore record.  The album, as yet untitled, promises the same high quality songwriting, tight musicianship, and true metal spirit as their worldwide critically-acclaimed debut THE LAST OF MY KIND.  However, this time the band promises a more  complex record with more intricate riffing, a powerful speedier approach, and more epic song structures while maintaining the strong melodic hooks and passionate delivery their fans have come to expect.  Some of the song titles follow:

Lifespan
Under Cover of Shadows
10,000 Midnights Ago
The Grand Horizon
Temple of the Empty
Tides of Fire

Five of the songs have been recorded in demo form at the band’s home studio.  The band plans to record the album sometime early next year with well -respected metal producer Bill Metoyer.  The record will once again be released on Italian label Cruz Del Sur Music.

CRESCENT SHIELD is also slated to play KEEP IT TRUE X Saturday 5 April  2008.
